Terms of sale & licence
One purchase, plainly put.
These terms explain what you buy when you get Riser Studio and what you may do with it. By buying, installing or using Riser Studio you agree to them.
Private beta · not on sale yet. This page describes the planned purchase terms. The current beta uses personal, expiring keys; checkout and purchase-code delivery are not live. We may update these terms before purchasing opens.
Who you are buying from
Riser Studio is made and licensed by David Yousefi Hashtyani, a sole proprietor (“we”, “us”), of 14 Jalan Hang Tuah 1/4, 81550 Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia.
Your purchase is handled by our payment provider, which is named at checkout and on your receipt. Where that provider sells Riser Studio to you as merchant of record or reseller, it processes your payment, collects and pays any sales tax or VAT and issues your receipt, and its buyer terms apply to your purchase alongside these terms. Your right to use Riser Studio comes from us, under the licence below.
What you buy
A one-time licence to Riser Studio: standalone and VST3 versions for Apple Silicon Macs and Windows x64, plus the Mac Audio Unit, all sharing one native sound engine. Included content comprises the Ascent / 100 and Infinity / 100 banks (100 Riser and 100 Shepard templates), 24 designed textures, original synthesis palettes, the documentation and any updates we choose to provide. There is no subscription.
The price is USD 29.99, paid once. Any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live is shown at checkout before you pay. Your bank may add its own currency-conversion fees.
Platforms and compatibility
The current 0.90 private-beta builds are for the following desktop systems. Build targets and completed tests are different: a listed target is not a guarantee that every hardware, operating-system and host combination has been verified.
- Mac: Apple Silicon · arm64; Standalone · VST3 · AU. Binary target: macOS 12.3 or later. Use a native Apple Silicon host. Native checks on macOS 15.6 and in a macOS 13.7.4 virtual machine. Physical M1, macOS 13.0 and full commercial-DAW acceptance remain pending.
- Windows: x64; Standalone · VST3. Target: Windows 10 or 11 with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Evergreen Runtime for the interface. Windows native build and automated VST3 checks passed. Interactive Windows, audio-driver and commercial-DAW acceptance remain pending.
Intel Mac, Rosetta-hosted plug-ins, Windows ARM, Linux and mobile builds are not included. AU is available on Mac only. Very dense sounds at high sample rates and small audio buffers can require more processing time; that performance envelope is still being tested. Current private packages are not a signed and notarized public release.
If you rely on a particular computer or DAW, email us before purchasing opens. Final public-release requirements will be confirmed here before sale.
Delivery
Riser Studio is delivered digitally once your payment is confirmed. How to download it is shown after checkout and in the email confirming your purchase. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder, then email us from the address you bought with.
Riser Studio makes and plays sound on your computer. Your sounds, presets and recordings are not sent to our activation service. The Privacy Policy explains activation and purchase data separately from your audio.
Activation
The instrument needs a valid personal key to play and export audio. Activation displays the signed owner’s name as “Licensed to …”. The current private beta uses device-bound signed keys that work offline until their stated expiry. Beta access is separate from the planned paid licence and is not a lifetime purchase.
When the purchase-code service opens, online activation will exchange your code for a signed licence on that computer. Purchase-code activation, periodic licence validation and releasing a paid activation use an internet connection. A valid, unexpired stored licence continues to work during a network outage. The service is not live in the current private-beta build.
Activation data is stored separately from your sounds and DAW projects. A locked or expired activation does not erase your work: you can still edit, save and recall projects. Do not share your key. Contact us if you need help moving an activation to a replacement computer.
Your licence
We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to install and use Riser Studio, in the version you bought and any updates we provide under these terms.
- One licence is for one named owner: the person who buys it.
- You may install and use Riser Studio, including its plug-ins, on up to two compatible computers that you use, in any combination of Mac and Windows.
- The licence is yours alone. It may not be shared, transferred or resold.
You receive a licence to use the software; you do not buy the software itself, and we keep all rights not expressly granted to you.
What the licence does not allow
You may not:
- share, sell, rent, lend or transfer your licence or your copy of Riser Studio, or let anyone other than the licensed owner use it;
- resell Riser Studio or offer it as part of a service to others;
- copy, extract or redistribute Riser Studio’s software or its factory content (templates, presets, designed textures and synthesis palettes), except as part of normal use on your licensed computers or as the Sound rights allow;
- remove, bypass or interfere with the protection of the factory content;
- use the factory content to train, fine-tune or otherwise develop any machine-learning model;
- decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer Riser Studio, except where applicable law, or an open-source licence that applies to a component, allows it.
Sounds you make
You may use the sounds you make with Riser Studio royalty-free in commercial and non-commercial work, including music, film, trailers, games, advertising, streaming and client projects. No attribution is required, and we charge no royalty per sound or per project.
You may not pass on the factory content, or sounds taken from it, as samples, sample packs, presets or sound libraries. The Sound rights page sets out exactly what is and is not allowed, and forms part of these terms.
We do not claim ownership of your recordings, your projects or the sounds you create. You are responsible for having the rights to any audio you import.
Third-party software
Riser Studio includes third-party software, such as the JUCE framework and libsodium, each under its own licence. Their licence notices come with the app. Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licences give you.
Refunds
There is no voluntary money-back guarantee. Refunds remain available where required by applicable law or the payment provider’s buyer terms. For EU and UK consumers, loss of the withdrawal right for an immediate digital download depends on the required prior express consent, acknowledgement and confirmation, not simply on accepting this page. The Refund Policy explains this. Rights where Riser Studio is faulty or not as described are unaffected.
If a purchase is fully refunded or reversed through a chargeback, the licence ends. The Refund Policy explains how to reach us and how payment disputes are handled.
Updates and support
We may provide updates, fixes and new versions, but we do not promise any particular update, feature or version, or support for future operating systems, particular plug-in hosts or architectures beyond those listed above. This does not limit any updates or remedies required by applicable consumer law. Updates we provide are covered by these terms. For help, email contact@dyaudiomx.com.
No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Riser Studio is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Riser Studio will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that its results will meet your needs.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to Riser Studio or these terms. Our total liability for all claims arising from or related to Riser Studio or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or removes rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
Ending the licence
You may end the licence at any time by deleting Riser Studio, including its plug-ins, from your computers. If you breach these terms, your licence ends automatically. It also ends if your purchase is fully refunded or reversed through a chargeback. When the licence ends you must stop using Riser Studio and delete it from your computers.
Sounds you made in accordance with these terms before the licence ended remain yours to use. The rules on what the licence does not allow, sounds you make and third-party software, together with the warranty, liability, governing law and general terms, continue to apply after it ends.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there where those laws allow.
General
These terms, including the Sound rights, together with the payment provider’s buyer terms for your purchase, are the entire agreement between you and us about Riser Studio. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer these terms or your licence; we may transfer our rights and obligations to someone who takes over Riser Studio, provided your rights are not reduced. We may publish a new version of these terms. It applies to purchases made after it is published.
